About Conference
Transboundary watercourses are vital lifelines for human survival and sustainable development. They supply drinking water, support agriculture and energy production, preserve biodiversity, and drive economic growth. However, their management poses complex challenges related to equitable allocation, shared governance, demographic pressures, climate variability, and industrial and agricultural pollution.
Environmental pollution further undermines water quality, ecosystem health, and food security, intensifying tensions among riparian states. These growing pressures highlight the urgent need for strengthened regional and international cooperation to ensure the integrated and sustainable management of shared water resources.
This conference aims to foster a science-based, collaborative dialogue among governments, researchers, and practitioners to promote sustainable transboundary water governance and pollution control.
